Artist statement:
"Blame it on the Rabbit"

I have always been interested in what lies behind the façade, that which gets in the way of reaching our potential. The façade is the mask we hide behind, the excuses we use to avoid action. We focus on the completion of an immediate task instead of the objective and affect of that task. When we stop thinking we stop questioning, when we stop questioning, we become vulnerable to manipulation. I have always believed that the process of self-evaluation and self-reflection are key to reaching our potential.

I found inspiration for this new work in the tale of Alice in Wonderland, not only because of the madness of wonderland that challenges our perception of truth but also because the story reveals both sides of Alice when she is faced with a challenge. In the story, Alice struggles between her desire to follow, not to think, and ultimately the realization that she must rely on herself, take responsibility for her choices and her actions. Alice learns from her mistakes, she relies on her curiosity that leads her to discover inner strength as she strives to make sense out of the world.
